Still no power...

A week after the hurricane, still no power in over half of Houston. Got no power or internet at home and access to the net is still pretty erratic.

Sucks.

Well was there any serious damage to your or Eelshock's place?

Well if getting power back was anything like my place, Svander could be living somewhere where they haven't restored power back to.

Last hurricane we had stories of neighbors who had no power but would be next door to people with full running water and power.

Taking a shower with out power sucks. Lord knows how much we all take for granted.

Neither my house or Eel's has power (yet). No significant damage to houses or cars, other than the fact my cable line got cut by a fallen tree so even when I do get power I'm not going to have my cable modem right away. The place we stayed at during the storm actually got power back fairly quickly, but has no reliable internet. She was able to get on using a laptop and some wifi that drifted in. I have logged on briefly using my laptop for a few minutes here and there, but just really havent had time to play.

I've had to be at work all week in a bldg without power and we didnt even have working bathrooms for a couple days. Bleh.

But could be worse... Galveston is decimated.

Well hopefully food and gas supplies aren't bad. You guys did stock up right?

Food, water, gas, none of that is too bad now. Getting power in the remaining half of the city, that's really the main obstacle.

My parents fled to Baton Rouge for the storm and power just came on yesterday at their place. Went there last night because it's getting hot again. Had their house to myself but their cable modem is still out.

And Deer Park public library wifi, where I currently am, is blocking WoW!
