Lower your latency (in WoW)

Copy/Pasted from an "old" WoW forum post from someone

1) Determine your IP Address (ipconfig or similar)
2) Run Regedit
3) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
4) Determine which interface is for your IP. The correct interface will have a DhcpIPAddress set to your current IP.
5) Right-click on the interface and select New->DWORD
6) Set the name to TcpAckFrequency (case sensitive)
7) Set to a decimal value of "1"
8) Save
9) Restart your computer

Yes this does work and from what I can tell it does not effect anything else TCP related.
I have been running this 'hack' for the past couple months with no effect on browsing/downloading/IMs/torrent etc.

it actually worked for me so far. thanks for the tip! lowered my ping by like 120 its around 60-80ms now.

Huh? What are you referring to? If it is my DK thread I'm adding to my info as well as all of those interested in DK's. I'm trying to keep people informed. Why create another thread for that? And now I've stopped caring. YAY!!

The Death Knight thread would have almost put me in the same mood of irritation, but what you posted was relevant and on topic there. Dev talking Chinese has nothing to do with improving latency. Hence you thread resurrected two threads, but only one was called for.

I said omg dev speaks Chinese in jest because I don't understand the Tech information he posted. It is like Chinese to me. It is relevant. It was a joke. And YOU didn't get it. FURTHERMORE, it was Thorgal that resurrected this post not me.

Fine it's Thorgal I have beef with for thread resurrection - but relevancy to the original post is what I was aiming for. I stand corrected and can say so. Can you?
