Playing gaming tournies for cash is a cool thing and all, but I can't see anybody doing it for a living to live off of for years to come. Makes me think of all the teens who enter those competitions, win a few tournies, then think they can do it for the rest of their life. If only it were so simple, cause then I'd be doing it as well :p

I would agree about 3-4 years ago. It is no longer "get paid IF you win", we are contracted and salaried players now. We each represent cities around the US, UK, Euro, Asian, Australia, Middle East regions. I just dont quite trust the entire system even though I have been doing it for years now. There are actually few teens as well, mostly 20+ year olds. But I agree, nerds playing games for money

Don't think it's all fun and games Smoke. I've seen Phantom the day after "practice" and he usually comes in a bit tired (and cracked out.) I'd almost look at it as beta testing without the bugs (in the sense that you're playing the same game everyday nonstop just trying to get it perfect.)


Although I admit that when he was gone, he does always sound like he's having a good time. <.<

Now if I could only convince him to do Arena...
